end sem: the syllabus is 11 units. the internal is 50 percent. the attendance is compulsory. the quiz is surprise. the lab file has not been updated since october. everyone in this hostel is doing all of this at once. we all look fine. we are not fine. nobody is fine. we are going to pass.

asked a senior what to do about attendance. he said 'proxy'. asked what a proxy is. he said 'someone marks you present'. asked who marks him. he said 'his proxy's proxy'. that is the entire university in one answer and i have not been able to stop thinking about it.

Waiting on a result is the only situation where doing absolutely nothing feels like the correct strategy.
